Orla Goes Gold
3 Number 1 singles, 2 Brit Awards for 'Best British Female Artist' and 'Best British Female Single' and now a golden Grammy to add to her collection. Think this is the end for our artist? Fear not, her journey has just begun!

The nineteen year old British Blonde Bombshell has only just begun her journey and managed to achieve all this in two years which takes many others a lifetime. Collaborations with Daft Punk, Will.i.am and Drake, she is said to be the next Miley Cyrus. The artist is currently recording her second album which will go on sale winter this year. X Magazine caught up with Orla East to talk about her music, what's next and her new found fame.

Orla began to pursuit her singing dream at just sixteen when she decided to upload YouTube videos of herself singing songs which appeared in the charts in the past, however nobody had heard of them for years.'It's such a cliché Justin Bieber story' she laughed 'on one of my singing videos, I covered Fallin' by Alicia Keys with my own personal twist. It wasn't a song I tried particularly hard on but by some miracle, it went viral.'
Luckily for this YouTube sensation, the song went back in the charts and many companies within the media questioned why. Once everybody discovered the truth about Miss East's viral video, it was all down to her. 'I remember it like it was yesterday' she said 'my mum came running into my room screaming telling me my video was on the news. From that day onwards, my life changed.' The passionate pop star received calls and emails from many record labels wanting to sign her. 'It was such a huge decision to make at sixteen years old- I was overwhelmed.' Orla added with slight confusion, 'some record signers would wait outside my school or my home, hoping they could bribe me with money or something, it was weird. I then realised I had a decision to make- to choose a label, obviously not the weirdo's who stalked me, and weather or not to pursuit my dream.'
Fortunately for us, the artist chose fame. She explained to us that the only reason she decided to go for it was because she wanted to make her family proud. 'My family are so supportive, they're my number one fans, without them I would fall apart.' Since Orla's stalkers and her claim to fame, the artist has been making the most of her new life. 'Oh what haven't I done!' she answered with great excitement. 'I've been to so many countries and cities to get my music out there, it's been incredible. I cannot believe my luck. Sometimes I feel like I'm dreaming, I mean, I've collaborated with some of the best artists.'

After chatting with the ambitious artist, it was time to change the subject. We were intrigued to find out about her recent music plans and her well deserved awards.
'After having such a great success with my first album, I am anxious to release my second' she feared. After selling over one million copies of her album and remaining first in the 'UK Top 40' for nine weeks, we were not surprised. 'The second album I will be releasing is ... different.' She hesitated with a huge grin on her face. 'It's not so different that past listeners won't like it, however it's more about my life rather than songs which do not really express anything.. When it's released you'll understand what I mean!'
The bubbly artist will be touring Spring 2015, and it's going to be a big one. 'I can't give too much away, however it's going to be crazy. Rumours have appeared in the media about who I will be touring with but you'll just have to wait and see!'
Miss East managed to get us on the edge of our seats with all this touring talk, so it was time to discuss her latest achievements. 'Ahhh my Brit Awards and my golden Grammy!!' Orla was overwhelmed and jumping around the room like an out of control schoolgirl. 'Winning 2 Brit's in one night was as good as it could get, but when I was nominated for a Grammy I didn't know what to do with myself! I turned to my mum and said 'is this a joke?' I could not believe my luck. And when I won I thought I was genuinely going to faint. It was a miracle in my eyes. I couldn't help but feel bad though, I was up against some of the best, and to think they were my idols and I had taken their potential Grammy! It was surreal. I actually apologised to Miley Cyrus because shes so great and deserved it! However she wouldn't accept it so I took it off her hands!'

As it reached the end of the day, it was time to wrap up our time with the artist. We decided to finish on what the future holds for Orla. ‘I don’t really have a plan, I’m just going to go with the flow and see what happens. I like being surprised and not knowing what’s going to happen. I don’t like the thought of having my future planned for me. Mystery is the way forward!’
